Players union ready for NFL's Ray Rice to get back on playing field


WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Ray Rice took the first step toward a possible return to the football field Tuesday evening when the NFL players' union announced it had filed an appeal of his indefinite suspension by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.Goodell initially had suspended the running back for two games without pay and fined him the equivalent of another game's pay.

NYC (CNN) -- The cardiac arrest leading to Joan Rivers' death happened as the comedian's personal doctor began performing a biopsy on her vocal cords, a source close to the death investigation told CNN.A staff member at Manhattan's Yorkville Endoscopy clinic told investigators that the doctor, who has not been publicly identified, took a selfie photo in the procedure room while Rivers was under anesthesia, the source said. Pipeline adds value to area tax bases Video included

HENDERSON (KYTX) - Local governments in one East Texas county say they're seeing the financial benefits of the new Transcanada pipeline to their tax bases. Appraisers in rusk county say the pipeline added nearly $30 million to the total tax base there. That means more revenue for the county and several schools including Henderson and Carlisle. Carlisle ISD Superintendent Mike Payne says there are now three pipelines that make up his district's top ten taxpayers. More>>

Gregg Co. armed robbery suspect jailed

A second suspect in Thursday's armed robbery of a Gregg County store was arraigned this morning.William Jerome Dail, 27, of Longview, is in the Gregg County Jail on $60,000 bond.
