LONGVIEW (KYTX) - A trial date is set in a Longview's woman's federal lawsuit against Gregg County, after her son died in its jail. Jury selection is scheduled February 9 in Tyler in the case of Betty Madewell versus the county. Her son, Bobby Madewell, was an inmate at Gregg County Jail on March 21, 2013, when he was found unresponsive in a separation cell. He was taken to Good Shepherd Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Attorneys for Madewell say he was denied his prescribed pain... More>>
