Details are still sketchy at this time. What we do know is that 40-year-old Melissa Dawn Fleming has confessed to shooting her husband last night and surrendered to Gladewater Police afterwards.
"Melissa Dawn Fleming came in the station and reported, she shot and killed her husband," said Gladewater Police Chief Farrell Alexander.
The shooting death of 45-year-old Joseph Fleming occured here at the 12 hundred block of Culver Street in Gladewater. Police tell CBS 19 Joseph died from a single gunshot wound. At this time police don't have any motive for the crime. Authorities said they have never been to the home for any arguments or disturbances, so they are currently at a loss to explain why this happened.
"We have some it's still under investigation the motive is and what all is going on. That's being determined by witness statements and talking to family members and things," said Alexander. "That is what we are working on right now."
Melissa Dawn Fleming was arraigned on murder charges and did post bond at 250 thousand dollars this afternoon.
