TYLER - From new entryways and added classrooms to new technology and extra parking, the upcoming remodeling work at Birdwell and Owens elementary schools will help update those facilities to the level of the brand new Tyler ISD campuses, officials said.
TISD trustees approved designs for the renovation work at Birdwell and Owens elementary schools at a board workshop Monday.
"I've been very pleased with the plans and drawings our architects presented today," Board President Ron Vickery said after the meeting. "I think the final result is going to be very nice, secure, usable campuses that will be as near to being a brand new building as we can make it at a very affordable price."
