RUSK COUNTY (KYTX) - In Rusk County on Wednesday, the ATF and the US Postal Inspector's Office have begun their investigation into suspect Larry North's home. Just after North was taken into custody in Tyler, authorities converged on a Rusk County home off County Road 401. A perimeter of more than a mile was set up, and investigators expect to be there through Wednesday evening.

As soon as Larry North's name was confirmed as the suspect arrested in connection with these pipe bombs, CBS 19 received several calls from contacts in Rusk County who say Larry North lost close to a million dollars in the 1980s, when Henderson's General Savings and Loan collapsed. He was injured in a train accident, and had placed his settlement money in the bank, which was in turn prosecuted for investing North and other monies outside of the FDIC.

Around 1:00 pm Wednesday, Rusk County Sheriff's Investigators roped off a mile of 401 at the 407 split. An hour after that, the US Postal Inspector's Mobile Command Unit showed up with ATF agents and began executing a search warrant in North's home about a mile down the road.

CBS 19 learned yesterday that the investigation was centering on Rusk County. After today's developments, neighbors were kept back and as tightlipped as the agents themselves, refusing to speak with reporters.

However, a frantic woman was on the scene asking an ATF agent questions about who they arrested. It was obvious she was a close friend or relative, and was distraught over the arrest and search warrant at the home.
