East Texans take PB&J to a new level

Posted: Updated:

TYLER (KYTX) - The world's largest peanut butter and jelly sandwich was created in Oklahoma City in 2002.

The PB & J sandwich weighed in at nearly 900 pounds, and contained 350 pounds of peanut butter and 144 pounds of jelly.

This coming weekend, (11/13) East Texans are attempting to beat that record.

The mission will involve a lot of people and a lot of peanut butter, and in the end it will benefit hungry East Texans.

Dennis Cullinane, the Executive Director of the East Texas Food Bank and Jamie Ollive, Grand Saline Main Street Director sat down with Bryan Houston to explain why they're doing this and who will benefit.
