Naples, Morris County (KYTX) - A 4-year-old was killed this evening in Morris County after being hit by a bus.
The Naples Police Chief says 4-year-old Patience Alderman had gotten off the bus about a block too soon, and she was trying to get back to it when she tripped and fell.
That's when Alderman's head landed on the pavement, and she was run over by the back tire of the bus.
It happened on Patterson Street in Naples.
That's just 12 miles north of Dangerfield in Morris County just before 5 this evening.
The bus did have 44 children on board at the time and they were kept there for about an hour while emergency workers pulled Alderman from under the bus and cleaned the scene.
She was taken to Titus Regional Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
We know the driver of the bus, Deana Van Story, is also a coach at the Paul Pewitt schools.
