Tyler Independent School District officials are already getting started on the projects that will be funded by the $125 million bond.
Superintendent Dr. Randy Reid plans to ask trustees Thursday to approve the purchase of 14.4 acres of land.
The land on Chandler Highway, near the Westwood Shopping Center, would be the site for the combined Jones Elementary and St. Louis School.
The district will pay $850,000 for the heavily wooded site, if the board approves the purchase. The property will be paid for with bond funds.
Reid said the site is in the Jones attendance zone and is easily accessible.
