"Fit City Day in the Park" is Saturday, Oct. 29 at Fun Forest Park in Tyler. Below is the overall schedule for this exciting and fun-filled event:


  • 6:30 a.m. - 7:45 a.m. = Onsite registration for the 5k and for the 1 mile
  • 7:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. = Vendor Booths Are Open
  • 8:00 a.m. = 5k Start
  • 8:30 a.m. = 1 mile Start
  • 9:00 a.m. = FREE Zumba on the tennis court
  • 9:30 a.m. = FREE Yoga on the tennis court
  • 9:30 a.m. = "Costume Contest" Entry is officially closed
  • 9:45 a.m. = "Costume Contest" begins (individual, family, team)

Judges will be Tyler Councilman Darryl Bowdre (District 2, West), Tyler Councilman Ed Moore (District 3, Northwest) & Tyler Councilman Don Warren (District 4, Northeast)

  • 10:00 a.m. = The 2nd East Texas Plank Challenge - How long can you stay on your forearms, elbows and feet? Winner gets a free 1-hour massage from ETMC
  • 11:00 a.m. = All vendor booths close and all activities will conclude.


  • Show up in a Halloween costume and enter the Costume Contest - Adults and kids can enter and win prizes!
  • Helicopter Landing & TakeOff provided by Flight For Life at the baseball field next to the tennis court
  • 4-Person Inflatable Joust & Oversized Sumo Wrestling stations in front of the entrance of the pool
  • Kids can also enjoy the 40 Foot Inflatable Obstacle Course
  • FREE finger printing and child safety tips from Operation Kids Safe
  • Music provided by Dewayne Blaq from "102.7/106.9 The BLAZE"


  • Have you wanted to try Yoga? There will be a FREE Beginner's Yoga session at 9:30 a.m.
  • Dance in a FREE ZUMBA class led by Adrianna Lugo - recently featured in the Tyler Paper from the NET Health Zumbathon
  • Walk or jog in the Run for Your Life 5k/1 mile 5k and 1-mile course
  • Test your core strength and leg strength and shoulder strength by doing the East Texas Plank Challenge


  • Enjoy FREE samples of healthy snacks and beverages from Natural Grocers and from Smoothie King
  • Visit the tables, tents and activities provided by all of the community organizations listed on the attached Vendor Layout Map
  • Health education and access to local services available from our vendors
