Veteran's Day is Fri. Nov. 11 - a day we set aside to honor those who served to help preserve our freedoms. Below is a list of events around the ETX area to honor our veterans.

  • City of Tyler Veterans Day Event: Fri., Nov. 11 at 11 a.m., join the City of Tyler, the Mayor's Veteran and Community Roundtable, East Texas Veterans Alliance and First Baptist Church in honoring our nation's heroes at the Veterans Day Celebration at First Baptist Church.
  • Gregg County Veterans Day Event: Veteran’s Day Service at Gregg County Courthouse. Starts at 11 a.m. Master of Ceremonies is Gregg County Judge Bill Stoudt.
  • Overton School District's Veterans' Day: The Overton Independent School District will honor veterans at the annual Veterans' Day Program to be held at 9:00 a.m. on Fri., Nov. 11 in the high school gymnasium.
  • John Tyler High School's Veterans Day Ceremony: John Tyler High School's Army Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (JROTC) is presenting the 2016 Veterans Day Ceremony. This presentation will include a Color Guard, history of Veterans Day, a Fallen Soldier Memorial and a Missing Man Table.
  • Jack Elementary Patriot Voices Choir Concert: You are invited to hear a concert by the Jack Elementary Patriot Voices Choir. It will perform at the Harvey Convention Center during Mistletoe and Magic on Fri., Nov.r 11, at 10:00 a.m.
  • Veterans Day Appreciation Celebration At Kilgore College: Friday, Nov. 11, the public is invited to the Devall Ballroom on the Kilgore College campus from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. for the annual Veterans Day Appreciation Celebration.
  • Watkins-Logan Texas State Veterans Home: 3rd Annual Veterans Day Parade and Cookout at the Watkins-Logan Texas State Veterans Home. At 11:00 a.m. our event will kick off with a parade followed by an old-fashioned cook out sponsored by Brookshire Grocery Company. The event is open to the public and free of charge.
