Two people are in jail each charged with one count of unlawful use of a criminal instrument after Tyler police officers noticed them acting suspiciously at a gas station earlier identified in previous skimming investigations.
An officer saw the two suspects, identified as Adriano Aldana-Rodriguez and Nelson Isac Fernandez-Lopez, at the Exxon gas station located on the corner of Old Jacksonville Highway and Lake Placid Road around 1:45 a.m. Tuesday morning.
This station had been hit by card skimming devices before, and police were in the area looking for any suspicious activity related to the devices.
The officer made contact with the suspects and located numerous items of gas skimming devices in the car. The two were arrested and remain in the Smith County Jail, each on a one million dollar bond.
