42-year-old victim found dead in submerged truck in Kemp

The Athens Daily Review reported in February a woman was killed when she drove into the same pond.

KEMP, Texas — One person was found dead inside a truck that was pulled from a pond in Kemp Tuesday morning.

According the Kemp Police Department, units responded at about 8:23 a.m. to the pond located at the U.S. 175 Westbound access road at State Highway 274.

When officers arrived they found a vehicle submerged in the pond.

Inside the vehicle, police found the body of a 42-year-old, who was reported missing Monday. Police did not identify the victim.

According to a Facebook post by the victim's sister, the victim is Jamie Manning.

The Kemp Fire Department, Kaufman County Sheriff's Office, Mabank Fire Department and Harvey's Wrecker Service assisted in the recovery effort.

The accident is under investigation.
