An Athens man already in jail on multiple charges has been linked to a series of ranch burglaries in Henderson County between June and September.

According to a press release from Sheriff Botie Hillhouse, a suspect, later identified as 58-year-old Clifton Deanean Dora led deputies on a chase after allegedly stealing an ATV and golf cart. He was later found at a a Leagueville gas station, arrested and charged with the theft and evading arrest.

A more in-depth investigation by Henderson County Sheriff Investigator Charles Severn linked Dora to six ranch burglaries spanning four months and involving ranches from Eustace to Larue. Items stolen included farm equipment, lawn mowers, power tools, saddles and trailers.

Dora remains in the Henderson County Jail on bonds totaling almost $200,000.
