Another set of card skimmers were found at a Tyler gas station Thursday morning.
Tyler Police and the Smith County Sheriff's office joint task force found skimmers at the Exxon station at the corner of Commerce Street and N.N.E. Loop 323 in Tyler.
Police encourage drivers to check the security tape on the pumps and look for other signs of possible tampering before using a credit or debit card. If any doubts arise, go inside and have the clerk scan the card at the counter.
Also, remain vigilant about checking monthly bank statements for unusual charges.
According to Don Martin, Tyler Police spokesperson, this station has been hit five or more times over the past year, due in part to the lack of security efforts.
