Three Longview teens were caught by police after an alarm company overheard them while trying to burglarize a local business in the early-morning hours of Thursday.
Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of West Loop 281 around 2 a.m. Thursday morning. The alarm company told police they could hear voices inside the closed business. Once there, they saw a van, without lights, near the area as well as firearms strewn between the business and where the van was spotted. They also saw broken glass where the suspects gained entry in to the business.
Police detained the driver, a 17-year-old, who told them he and "several juveniles" were involved in the burglary as well as another one that had happened minutes earlier. He explained the other suspects promised him jewelry as compensation for his part in the heist.
The 17-year-old suspect was arrested and taken to the Gregg County Jail on one charge of burglary of a building. Two additional juvenile suspects were also arrested.
