Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse released a sketch of the suspect wanted in connection with th assault of one of his deputies on Sept. 29.

The deputy approached a man acting suspiciously while walking along a road south of Leagueville. During questioning, the suspect pulled out a gun, struck the deputy in the face and fled.

The deputy was treated at a local hospital and released the same night.

Authorities are actively looking for the man, described as of average height, weighing between 140 and 160 pounds and having a tattoo on his upper arm above the elbow.

“If you see this man, call us,” Hillhouse said. “He is dangerous. Assume he is armed with the handgun he had when he assaulted the Deputy. Do not approach him. Call us.”

A Crime Stoppers reward of $5,000 has also been offered to anyone assisting in the identification and arrest of the suspect.
