A call for help by a Chapel Hill resident ended with the one person placed into custody, suspected of burglarizing the property on Halloween night.

Smith County Sheriff's deputies were called to a Chapel Hill residence around 9:40 a.m. Tuesday morning on reports of a robbery in progress.

The caller stated the home had been burglarized on Halloween night, and a report was filed. The homeowner stated she went toward the barn Tuesday morning, heard noises inside and feared the suspect(s) were in the barn.

Deputies found one person in the barn and placed him/her into custody. Detectives are interviewing the suspect and have not yet released his/her name or bond amounts pending formal charges.

According to the Smith County Sheriff's Office press release, the investigation continues and further details will be released as they become available.
