UPDATE: According to Rebecca Berkley with ETMC, the two children that were in the pickup truck that rear-ended a Pittsburg ISD school bus have been flown to Dallas, but their conditions are unknown at this time.

The driver, Angelika Resendez was treated and released.

Nine children that were on the bus were taken to area hospitals as well, two by ambulance and seven by private vehicle. The injuries are not life-threatening.


UPDATE: According to a DPS press release, 30 students were on the Pittsburg ISD school bus when 29-year-old Angelika Resendez rear-ended it.

Three students were taken to a hospital for evaluation.

Resendez and her two children were also taken to a hospital in serious condition.

The crash remains under investigation.


No children were injured when a pickup truck rear-ended a Pittsburg ISD school bus early Wednesday morning..

The accident happened on Highway 271 north, six miles from Pittsburg.

The pickup truck driver rear-ended a bus that was stopped to pick up kids waiting to board the bus.

Witnesses say the driver and one of her children were able to get out of the vehicle, but emergency crews had to get the other child out.

The woman and her two children were taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries.
