Longview police, with the help of observant neighbors, helped capture a suspect after he allegedly assaulted and robbed couple in their home on Thursday morning.

According to a police report, 20-year-old Malique Makail Henderson approached a home and knocked on the door. When the female victim answered, Henderson allegedly struck her with a piece of concrete or a rock and forced his way inside.

Henderson then confronted a male victim, allegedly striking him as well. Henderson then stole items in the home before fleeing the scene.

Neighbors got involved, calling the Longview police and some even chased the suspect. Police quickly located Henderson and arrested him for aggravated robbery/injury to the elderly and burglary of a habitation with intent to commit other felony. He is in the Gregg County Jail on bonds totaling $1.5 million.

Both victims were taken to a local hospital and treated for their injuries.
