Police are investigating a Saturday evening shooting that left at least one person injured.
At about 7 p.m. Saturday, officers from the Nacogdoches Police Department responded to a shooting call on Eliza Street, near its intersection with Cariker Street.
When officers arrived, they found a 36-year-old man lying in the street with apparent gunshot wounds.
Medics took the man to Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital, where he was being treated Sunday for a gunshot wound to the shoulder and another to the side of his head.
Detectives believe the man got into a physical argument with another person and both ended up shooting at each other. The other subject left the scene before officers arrived, according to a news release from police.
NPD detectives are investigating the incident.
