Bronson natives, Gene Miller, 30, and 16-year-old Alexia Moreno died after a crash occurred around 7:45 p.m. Saturday night at the intersection of US 96 and SH 147.

A preliminary investigation of the crash indicates that a Dodge pickup heading northeast on SH 147 ignored a stop sign at US 96 and ended up in the path of a Chevrolet SUV.

After colliding into each other, both vehicles caught on fire and partially burned.

Miller was driving the Chevrolet with Moreno as a passenger and both individuals were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police identified the driver of the Dodge as 34-year-old Hemphill native, Matthew Williams. He was treated at the scene for minor injuries and arrested for intoxication manslaughter.

Williams was taken to the San Augustine County Jail.

The crash is currently under investigation.
