Last month, Jaxon Holland set out to earn his boy scout community service badge by raising money to buy 31 vests for Wood County Sheriff Deputies in 31 days.

Exceeding his goal, Holland was able to order 34 vests and raise $18,000 in one month.

“When they were calculating it up and told me how much and how many vests we could get, I was like, I’m really excited now,” Holland said.

Wood County Sheriff Tom Castloo met with Holland on Monday and thanked him for all of his hard work.

“He went big so our guys can go home,” Castloo said.
