A cashier at a Tyler laundromat was robbed at gunpoint early Monday morning and police are searching for the suspect.

Officers were called to the Lavanderia Express on Vine Street around 4 a.m. and were told by the cashier that a male walked into the business armed with a handgun. He threatened the clerk and demanded money from the cash register and safe.

The victim complied, and the suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction. The victim was not hurt.

Officers searched the area but did not find the suspect.

This case is still under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call the Tyler Police Department as soon as possible.
