'Christmas Under the Bridge' brings the holiday spirit to life

Hunger for Love hosted the 8th annual Christmas Under the Bridge for more than 600 people.

TYLER — Christmas was in the air in North Tyler for the 8th Christmas Under the Bridge hosted by Hunger for Love.

Jason Eslicker founded Hunger for Love when he was 15-years-old in 2011.

"The ministry just kept growing and growing and turned into what it is today," Eslicker said.

The first Christmas event Hunger for Love hosted was not under the bridge located on Valentine St.

"Our first year we were on the square and we served probably about 150 people from across our community," Eslicker remembered.

Once the group started meeting under the bridge every Saturday morning, it made sense to host Christmas at the same location.

"So we're here continuously," Eslicker explained. "We know the people, we've built relationships with them, we know them very well so this is our family."
