COLD CASE: Megan Garner still missing after 27 years

Tuesday, March 27, 2018 marks 27 years since Megan Garner went missing from an apartment complex in Tyler. Police say even though her case is considered "cold," they continue to look.

Tuesday marks 27 years since Megan Garner went missing from an apartment complex in Tyler.

She was three years old when she went missing in 1991. She was last seen playing with her siblings on a playground at her apartment complex on Paluxy Drive.

Megan's mother Melanie Jackson says she still has hope one day she will see her daughter again.

"I think it's so important to report anything that anyone might remember or might have seen or if someone has seen someone that looks like her age progression because you know all we want at this point is to know where Megan is," said Jackson.

Tyler Police Detective James Holt is in charge of Megan's case. He tells CBS19 he reviews the files every few months to make sure he hasn't missed anything.

"There's not a whole bunch of leads because when she disappeared there was children in the area and they couldn't say when she went missing."

Holt said this week, he is getting additional help.

"We have two specialists coming in to do a full evaluation of the case and update it as far as digitizing the files in current format and then look for any leads that could have been missed or that technology will allow us to pursue," said Detective Holt.
