AMARILLO – A traffic stop in Carlson County led to the discovery of over 120 lbs. of marijuana wrapped in cellophane packages.

At approximately 11:00 p.m., Thursday, a DPS trooper stopped a 2009 Toyota Camry traveling east on IH-40 near Conway for a traffic violation.

A DPS canine unit was called to the scene and alerted on the vehicle. The trooper then discovered five large cellophane-wrapped packages of marijuana inside the trunk.

The marijuana is worth approximately $730,000.

The driver, Jacob Kent, 43, of Chester, Va., was arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana. Kent was transported and booked into the Carson County jail.

The drugs allegedly were being transported from Las Vegas to Richmond, Va.
