The East Texas American Association of Zoo Keepers hosted their first annual Bowling for Rhinos night on Saturday.

The event took place at Green Acres Bowl in Tyler. Hundreds of people showed up to bowl and enjoy the fun.

The organization's Facebook page states that Rhino's may not exist in the next 50 years. According to the page, the rhino's are often poached for their horns and smuggled to Asia.

Aimee Pritchard, with the organization, said their purpose is to raise money and awareness for animals in need.

"We have endangered species all over the entire globe," she said. "The more awareness we can raise about the problems that they are having and the more money we can raise to build habitats for these animals the better for everybody."

Tickets were sold at the door. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go towards the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy for Rhino Conservation.
