Many East Texans celebrated the Día de los Muertos Fest on Sunday at Bergfeld Park with food, dancing and musical performances.
The festival commemorated the Day of the Dead, a Mexican holiday that serves as a time to remember family members and friends who have died.
The event included ballet folklórico, Aztec dancers, mariachis, a musical group, and a Selena tribute artist, among many other acts.
Participants also could memorialize a loved one through a community altar and participate in a costume parade.
Bright colors and skull decorations abounded and attendees had the chance to win a cash prize for the best costume.
This is the second year local residents have organized this celebration to bring the entire community together.
