Feral hogs making their way through some neighborhoods in Tyler are causing problems for homeowners.

According to Brice Owen, the garden and flower beds at his home have been torn up by hogs during the overnight hours.

"Pigs are getting in the yards and tearing them up. just destroying your grass and gardens," Owen said.

According Mary Fowler with Tyler Animal Control, they are not responsible for picking up feral hogs and do not have the resources to manage the large animals.

"We don't even have a place to take them. They won't fit in our trucks," Fowler said.

She also said that residents living in Tyler city limits cannot shoot the animals on their property and are referring customers to services that specialize in trapping hogs.
