The Gregg County Courthouse is getting a makeover to preserve the building's history. Built in 1939, the courthouse has since been rebuilt three times to keep up with the growth of Gregg County.
Gregg County Judge Bill Stoudt says the building needs many upgrades, including a new roof, vents and floors. The cost will run between six to eight million dollars.
Judge Stoudt tells us renovations are expected to be completed in the Winter of 2018.
This week, crews are starting to work on re-sealing windows and fixing any cracks or crevices around the courthouse.
