More East Texans are switching from incandescent to LED Christmas lights this holiday season.

According to a recent study by Duke Energy, using LED lights could decorators up to 75 percent on their energy bills.

Reasons why Chris Englerth with Longview Lighting says they are so popular with his customers.

“It’s really exciting to see the looks on peoples faces when the lights go up,” Englerth said.

He also said that LED lights reduce the likelihood of bulbs breaking and causing a fire.

“With having incandescent, it’s that you have a lot of bulbs that can easily break. when things break there could be a fire. issues on that end,” Englerith said.
