Members of the LGBTQ community are speaking out after President Trump announced the ban of transgender people serving in any capacity in the military.
The President gave his reasons, mentioning tremendous medical costs and the disruption transgender in the military entail.
Hannah Morris is an active member in the Tyler LGBTQ community. She said this ban is discriminatory and unwarranted.
"This isn't protecting anybody, because you want to strengthen our military by taking away people? Who are willing to do it? We're a volunteer-based military, and there are people who are willing to live the closeted life to go," said Morris.
