Officials say better communities are built when people speak up about their concerns.
The city of Longview hosted an open house at the Gregg County Historical Museum to hear resident concerns on sidewalks and bike paths throughout the city.
The event provided maps for people to show areas of the city that need improvement.
Karen Owen, City Transportation Planning Manager, says she is excited to hear resident concerns.
“We have research on areas of improvement but hearing from residents helps us to develop a plan of action,” Owen says.
The city will develop a plan based on resident concerns in the next three to four months. Then they will bring that plan back for residents to hear in early 2018.
