Hundreds of people are supporting families in need, at the Touch A Truck, Feed a Family event in Longview. Families get the chance to see some of their favorite trucks and cars up close.

Longview Community Ministries hosts the event as a fundraiser for their food box and service center. The event was free but families were asked to bring a jar of peanut butter for their food pantry.

Event organizers say every donation helps the fight against hunger in Longview.

"United Way provides most of our funds and they go pretty fast," Longview Community Ministries Executive Director Robin Fruia says. "This fundraiser helps us to maintain our food pantry and service center."

Longview Fire and Police also came out to the event. Parents tell us their children were inspired to become a first responder after meeting those local heroes.
