Authorities in Longview are investigating a shooting that took place in the parking lot of an auto shop Saturday afternoon.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired at the corner of East Myrtle Street and South Mobberly Avenue around 3:40 p.m. Saturday.

Upon arrival, Longview police found one man shot who was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Crime scene tape surrounded three vehicles, each punctured with visible bullet holes. Shell casings were also found scattered around the crime scene.

Longview police have confirmed that officers were not involved in the shooting and provided no additional details about potential suspects or arrests.

The victims name has not yet been released.
