Longview Police officers say many of the intersections along Loop 281 have become dangerous because people do not stop at red lights.

"Those white lines are there for a reason, people need to slow down and stop." Officer Gene Duffie said.

Police posted a Facebook post with a picture of the intersection of Loop 281 and Fourth Street. They asked the question, if you're going eastbound, what white line do you make a stop.

There are more than 30 comments on the post with varying answers.

I asked several people the same question. "You stop at the first white line and the other two lines are for pedestrians." Longview resident Linda Carrington said.

For those that do not want to slow down or stop at red lights, you will receive a citation.
