An East Texas man received a 14-year prison sentence during a hearing Thursday at the Gregg County courthouse.

According to the Gregg County Criminal District Attorney's Office, Matthew Todd pleaded guilty to threatening staff at an inpatient drug rehabilitation center while on probation for Burglary of a Habitation.

That offense stemmed from Todd entering his neighbor's home while she was asleep and stealing her credit cards and vehicle.

Police later caught Todd and his girlfriend after surveillance video captured them using the stolen cards at local stores.
