Methamphetamine dealer arrested after leading deputies on chase

An methamphetamine dealer in the Athens area was arrested after leading authorities on a chase on his motorcycle.

Bill Monday, a 33-year-old Athens-area methamphetamine dealer was arrested after leading Henderson County deputies on a chase through the town Thursday.

Deputies believed Monday to be in Athens with a large amount of illegal narcotics.

According to authorities, Monday refused to stop his motorcycle when a Deputy saw him and began a lengthy chase across the west side of Athens.

Narcotics Investigators Josh Rickman, Gabriel Shue, and Henderson County Constable Precinct 1 Kay Langford along with Deputy Matthew Jistel assisted in the pursuit, and Monday was taken into custody.

Monday is being held in the Henderson County jail and faces several charges, including manufacture and delivery of a substantial amount of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence and evading arrest on a motor vehicle.
