There are plenty of talented athletes around East Texas, but few of them are ranked both statewide and nationwide.

One of those who is ranked on the national level is Grace tennis star Danielle Quevedo. On Wednesday, Danielle decided to continue her tennis career at the University of New Mexico.

Danielle is currently ranked 9th in the state and 92nd in the country. She’s won titles at almost every level and is a two-time TAPPS state champion.

She says signing with a Division 1 school is something she’s always dreamed of doing. She hopes to be able to play right away as a freshman and would like to compete in both singles and doubles. Ultimately, she’s going to be a pre-med student and would like to be a dentist someday.
