Investigators with the Palestine Police Department are investigating what they believe was a murder-suicide.

At about 2:20 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to a domestic disturbance call at a home on North Jackson Street, near its intersection with Loop 256.

When they arrived, officers could not get inside the home, so they forced entry, according to a press release from PPD.

Once they got inside, police found two people with gunshot wounds. They called for paramedics, but both victims were pronounced dead on the scene.

The department said its investigation is ongoing, and detectives believe this incident was a murder-suicide.
