An early morning crash in Pittsburg injured 7 students and 3 others after a pick-up truck slammed into the back of a stopped school bus along Highway 271 on Wednesday.

According to Superintendent Judy Pollan, 6 of the 7 students were treated at local hospitals and released. The other student is expected to recover from his injuries.

One of the students on the bus, Jaslyn Gutierrez, says that the crash was unlike anything she had ever experienced.

“It was really loud. there were kids screaming. we were all in shock,” Gutierrez said.

The driver of the pick-up truck, 29-year-old Angelika Resendez was injured and taken to a local hospital. The two children in her care were taken by helicopter to a Dallas hospital with severe injuries.
