A student was arrested at Robert E. Lee and charged with terroristic threat after bringing a BB gun on campus.

Dennis Wayne Forte, 18, was booked into the Smith County Jail on Tuesday morning on a $750 bond. Terroristic threat is a Class B Misdemeanor.

The incident was reported at 9:44 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 11 after Forte threatened to harm another student with the BB gun, according to the arrest report.

Tyler ISD released a statement regarding the incident on Wednesday morning.

"The safety of students and staff is always priority at Tyler ISD. After becoming aware of the situation, school administrators along with Tyler ISD Police took swift action to ensure the situation was resolved."
