CHEROKEE COUNTY, Texas — The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office discovered a body in the Neches River on Thursday.
According to Cherokee County Sheriff James Campbell, the body found has been identified as the missing Wells man, Danny Wayne Carter.
Danny Wayne Carter, who runs Danny Carter Insurance in Wells, was reported missing on Jan.12 after going hog hunting and didn't return home.
His body was sent to Southwest Forsenic in Dallas for an autopsy.
Sheriff Campbell says it appears to be a drowning.
This case remains under investigation.
