It’s an appointment you may not schedule ever summer, but experts say getting your car in for a check-up could save you time and money.

According to Dakota Caden at Engines Express in Tyler, making sure your coolant levels are where they are supposed to be can be critical before taking off on a summer road trip.

“You don’t want to be stranded on the side of the road, overheated, and have to pay for the cost of repairs at a different automotive shop,” Caden said.

He also recommends checking your tires to make sure your pressure is reading at the levels printed on the sticker that’s located on the inside of most driver doors.

“Just take it to your automotive repair shop and have them check it out thoroughly,’ Caden said.
