One person accused of making a bomb threat is in custody after a standoff with Kilgore police Monday afternoon.
Just before 5:00 PM Kilgore PD received a call from staff at the National Guard Armory. They were advised a man was at the front door and had threatened a staff member, who was not in uniform.
Upon arrival officers learned the suspect had stated he had a bomb.
Officers used binoculars to view several items in his possession and determined he did not have any explosives.
The suspect refused to cooperate with officers. After a brief standoff the suspect was safely taken into custody and transported to the Kilgore Municipal jail.
The roadway in front of the armory was closed for a short time, but has since been cleared.
We will have more information as it becomes available.
