Legislators in Texas have filed multiple bills aimed at decriminalizing marijuana throughout the state.

One of those bills, House Bill 81, would decriminalize possession of small amounts of marijuana, replacing arrests and possible jail time with a civil fine

Two joint Senate resolutions were also filed on Monday aimed at amended the State constitution, allowing for recreational and medicinal use of marijuana.

If passed, the issue will appear on Texas ballots in 2018.

All of the bills will be up for consideration when legislators meet in May 2017.
