The Tyler Obedience Training Club is hosting their annual obedience rally at the Longview Exhibit Buildings. Dogs of all sizes and breeds are showing off their skills.
Many trainers at the event say they have spent years working with their dog on advanced skills. One of the events involves a trainer giving non-verbal directions.
"This event is very difficult because your dog must be able to read you completely." Peggy McConnell said. "Training dogs is a skill."
McConnell is a professional dog trainer that has received national recognition for her work. She encourages new trainers to make sure they give a name for every skill you want your dog to perform.
The rally is all weekend and includes 371 entries and with more than 100 dogs participating each day.
Admission is free! For more information please contact the Tyler Obedience Training Club at- http://www.tylerotc.org/
