UPDATE: Game warden Quinton Balkcom confirmed that the body of the boater who went missing Saturday afternoon.

Longview Water Rescue found the body around 12:30 Monday afternoon, about 20 yards off the dam near where divers were searching yesterday.

Officials have not yet released the identity of the boater, pending next of kin notification.


UPDATE: Game wardens are still looking for the boater reported missing Friday afternoon.

Texas Game Warden, Quinton Balkcom said that there were two people on the boat at the time when they ended up in the water and one of them went missing.

The survivor was flown to and later released from a local hospital.

Game wardens are continuing their search at this time, and with their families in mind, not releasing the identities of either boater at this time.


According to Texas Game Warden, Quinton Balkcom, a search began Friday afternoon for a missing boater at Lake O' the Pines.

Balkcom said that wardens were notified of an overturned boat at around 3:45 p.m.

So far, wardens have been unsuccessful finding the occupant of that boat.

As of now, the search has stopped temporarily due to nightfall and an underwater search and rescue crew will resume the search Saturday morning.
