UPDATE: Powder-like substance sent to Sabine HS faculty member determined to be nontoxic

UPDATE: Authorities conducted tests on the powder-like substance, and the results showed it was not toxic and non life-threatening.

According to the district's superintendent, students were never in danger.

Deputies from the Gregg County Sheriff's Office are investigating after a Sabine High School faculty member received a powder-like substance in a letter.

According to authorities, the faculty member turned that letter over to the school resource officer.

No one was harmed during this incident, and school is resuming as normal.
