Woman arrested after sending bomb threat to Smith County Sheriff's Office

A Sabine County woman was arrested after sending a bomb threat to the Smith County Sheriff's Office.

One person has been arrested after sending a bomb threat to the Smith County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a press release, on March 5th Heather George, a Sabine County resident, sent an email through the Smith County Sheriff’s website and made threats referring to blowing up the building.

Detectives were able to obtain information and identified the source of the threat.

On March 7th, a search warrant was executed and detectives seized several items of evidence related to the case. George was arrested for tamper/fabricate physical evidence during the search. George was booked in the Sabine County Jail.

And on March 14th George was arrested again and taken before a magistrate upon arrest.

George is in the Smith County Jail being held on a $250,000 bond.
